Bob— provides the beat for Live at Nine and forms the backbone of the rhythm section driving the great tunes that you hear performed by this talented group of musicians. With over 30 years of professional playing experience, Bob has played about every style of music, from rock, to soul, to swing, to country. For over twenty years Bob played drums and sang lead vocals with Night Time Magic, and he brought that talent and experience to Live at Nine, where he continues to lay down a steady beat and lend his great vocals to the mix.
Judy—The other half of the great Live at Nine rhythm section, Judy supplies the driving bass lines to the varied selections in the Live at Nine catalog. Also a former member of Night Time Magic with her husband Bob, Judy has been performing professionally for over 20 years as well. In addition to supplying a solid groove with her bass lines, Judy adds her exceptional vocal talent to Live at Nine as well. Judy faithfully reproduces the melodies of many great female artists such as Shania Twain, Pat Benetar, Cheryl Crow, and Gretchen Wilson, while also providing beautiful harmony vocals on the remainder of the Live at Nine catalog.
Gary - lead vocalist extraordinaire. You only have to hear Gary sing once and the response is always the same. People are always amazed at the vocal ability of the man from Sturgeon Bay. Gary lends his rare and exceptional talent to Live at Nine by accurately reproducing the performances of many great vocalists such as Wilson Picket, the Blues Brothers, Neil Diamond, and the Righteous Brothers to name a few. When he is not belting out lead and backing vocals, he handles some of the many auxiliary percussion responsibilities that Live at Nine has handed to him.
Keith - guitars and vocals. With over 15 years of professional experience, Keith brings a variety of playing styles to Live at Nine. Before teeming up with Bob and Judy to form Live at Nine, Keith was an original member of Green Bay’s popular Swimming Fish. And whether supplying funky rhythms for an old Sam and Dave tune, or playing screaming leads the likes of Santana and Van Halen, it is obvious that Keith enjoys what he is doing. Keith also gives Gary and Bob a break to supply a few lead vocals.
Steve - keys and just about everything else. Steve is our resident Jack-of-all-trades. While his primary instrument in Live at Nine is the keyboard, he has been known to strap on an accordion, or pick up a trumpet. Steve has been playing professionally since he was a kid and was most recently with the band A.K.A. He is also the band comedian, as he loves to spice things up with some offbeat playing during some choice moments in certain numbers. There is never a dull moment when Steve is in the band!
Greg - trumpet, fluegal horn, and auxiliary percussion. Greg is the guy surrounded by all that “stuff” on stage. While trumpet is his primary instrument in Live at Nine, Greg has become quite the percussion player. As soon as his trumpet leaves his lips, Greg is working a steady beat out of the Conga drums, or adding the right touches to a song with some bongos. With a degree in music and over 30 years of professional experience, Greg helps to arrange the horn lines for the Live at Nine horn section. He has also been known to sing lead on a few tunes as well.
